Loukas Freris


Research Assistant and PhD Candidate

Project: ‘Living with Radiation: The History of Radiation Protection and the International Atomic Energy Agency’, funded by the EU, Horizon 2020, European Research Council (ERC) Consolidator Grant HRP-IAEA.





I work on the history of the IAEA technical assistance programs with a special focus on radiation protection. I have an MA in History and Philosophy of Science and Technology (2018), National and Kapodistrian University of Athens & National Technical University of Athens. My thesis was entitled  “A  Scientific Diplomacy Story: The Mobile Isotope Laboratory of the International Atomic Energy Agency in Greece”. I hold a BA in Mathematics (2016) from the University of the Aegean. My research interest lies in the intersection of history of natural sciences of the 20th century, political and diplomatic history and International Relations.
